Straight ethanol has an octane rating of 115. E-85 is probably closer to 105. But I think the real advantage to E-85 is the cooling effect (30% more fuel), detonation resistance (you can severely advance timing), and price/accessibility (race gas power at pump gas prices). The dyno above is certainly not apples to apples, but gives a ballpark of what the turbos are capable of with head work and all the other mods.
